One Minutes Junior trainers Mr Chris Schuepp, Ms Vivian Wen Li Lin and Ms Judith Leysner coming from overseas, and local trainers David, Harry, Joe and SamAndy had the first experience of organizing Believe In Zero, Make A Video camp with 15 young boys from Hong Kong Juvenile Chan Nam Chong Memorial School, and Society of Boys’ Centres Chak Yan Centre School.

The five-day workshop not only built friendship between the trainers and the young people, but also let us hear the boys’ dreams, reasons and difficulties of studying in a boarding disciplinary school- like loneliness, missing family members, and eagerness for freedom, friendship. We also get to know some reasons of the behavioural problems, like family violence, bullying in schools, etc

Slanted visions: Returning the Gaze
Asian European Media Maker Forum
18:00 – 19:30 | Theater 2

After the premiere of the three CinemAsia FilmLAB shorts, we will investigate the role of Asian European media makers in challenging stereotypical representations of Asia and Asians in Europe. Images of Asians are not only stereotypical, but also painfully absent within media productions. While societal reality shows us a ethnic diverse image, media representations lack this diversity. This panel explores how these filmmakers, actors and producers articulate the need for the recognition of (multi)cultural identities and why they consider this important.
